What is acne?
Acne is one of the most common skin conditions young people have to cope with. However, sometimes even adults suffer from it. In short, the condition is an inflammation of the facial/neck/shoulder/back/ chest hair/fat follicles. The most common symptoms include various rash elements such as comedones, papules, pustules, and in heavier forms-cysts, nodules, and scars.
There are two main factor groups that may trigger acne development:
endogenous – genetic or hormonal factors leading to the increased fat excretion (sebum)
exogenous – various cosmetics, medicaments, professional factors and so on.
The abnormal sebum levels clog the fat glands canals, which leads to various inflammatory processes. Usually, the inflammation is caused by the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes.
Acne treatment depends heavily on each person individual needs. The treatment strategy is generally based around the reasons that started the process in the first place. Depending on the personal condition dermatologists might add or exclude some of the following methods – laser therapy, medicaments, and various procedures with specific apparatus. The latest tendency is to use laser therapy because it is both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.
How do we treat prone to acne skin?
AGLEA DERMA relies on the IPL technology incorporated in the Lumenis M22. It effectively fights the inflammatory processes and the causes for the acne development. The emitted light warms the dermis, which triggers the natural healing abilities of the human body. IPL improves the local blood circulation and the feeding of the skin tissues, thus enhancing the immunity in the area. This significantly slows down the inflammatory processes and regulates the functions of the fat glands.
What is the procedure?
The manipulation lasts for about 15-20 minutes and is completely painless, causing no discomfort. It is normal if your skin turns red after the procedure. The redness will disappear in an hour. Depending on each person the number of sessions might vary from four to five. There should be at least two weeks between two separate sessions. You can safely combine acne treatment with other therapies.
