LUMENIS M22 incorporates four different modules – IPL, Multi-spot Nd:YAG, Q-Switched Nd:YAG, and Resur FX.
- 1. IPL (515-1200nm) – the "Gold Standard" is now improved, more effective, and less harmful. Its photo-laser technology Optimal Pulse Technology is capable of removing:
enlarged vessels on the skin epidermis
facial and body hairs
blood vessels abnormalities such as telangiectasia and haemangioma
Each individual's skin gets specific treatment according to its needs.
- 2. Nd:YAG (Multi Spot)
There is a theory that suggests hemoglobin, melanin and other chromophores in our skin absorb the sunlight. The energy is then transformed into heat, which unfortunately destroys the bodies containing hemoglobin. The laser technology is based on this theory. Nd:YAG best removes enlarged blood vessels with a size up to 2 mm, heamangioma, pigmented areas, and spider angioma. The effect is visible even after the first treatment, though larger areas need several procedures.
- 3. Nd:YAG (Q-Switched)
Are you sick of your poor looking tattoos? Q-Switched is the most effective way to get rid of dark tattoos. Plus, it does almost no harm to your skin. It uses controlled energy to reduce the risk of unwanted side effects. The artificial pigments under your skin absorb the laser light better than skin cells. As a result, the laser light destroys the pigments into tiny bits that your body ejects through the macrophages. The human immune system is able to eliminate the pigment for a couple of weeks after the intervention. For the complete removal of a specific tattoo, one must undergo several procedures every 4-6 weeks. Their number depends mainly on the pigment quality, its integrity and how deep it is situated. Each manipulation follows a local anesthesia. Immediately after treatment the skin gets red and swelled. Edema is a common condition after tattoo removal treatments but it usually disappears after a couple of days.
- 4. Resur FX (1565nm)
Resur FX is a last generation non-ablative fractioned laser technology capable of recovering the skin and making it look younger. The unit uses a variety of necks (tips) to effectively approach each and every problem. Resur FX's laser light affects only the impaired skin cells, without doing any harm to their healthy counterparts. The benefit here is the short recovery time. This non-ablative technology is most used when treating acne marks, atrophic and surgery scars, wrinkles, and uneven tanning. In addition, Resur FX is one of the most effective ways to treat stretch marks. Usually, there are between three and five procedures every 4-5 weeks.
